Those of us who have pets are often looking for new ways to add comfort to our best friends' lives. They go room to room with us and expect nothing but to be near us. Patricia chose pet mattresses made of cream linen and white cording to place inside her kitchen cupboards to give her sweet little dogs a place to sit.

A large leather sofa can be daunting in a room. Men love them - Women loathe them. The look is right - the feel is wrong. Well made leather furniture is considered a classic. As time goes by and wear & tear is apparent, it just gets better. To cut the edge of masculinity, throws & pillows are a must. Soft, textural fabrics in warming colors eliminates that "slippery slope" that leather furniture can bring. What's your look? Where do you want to go with your leather furniture? It can fit in a smoking lounge style space, a prairie classic or a European inspired room. What you add is what you make it. Don't settle for average, make it what you love!
McKinney is well known for its "porch flair". This client wanted a cover for her glider's cushion, while covering the undercarriage at the same time. She asked for a ruffle in the front to cover just that. The Garden Tour she participated in was a great success, as was all the "porch flair" she let me help her with. See the full tour of her garden and porch at How to Love Your Home or use this link. http://henschix.blog.com/2012/06/mckinney-garden-tour-fredda-fredda-fredda.html/
This porch swing was crafted by a client who used a vintage door and heavy rope. I created a washable French mattress cover for this swing along with neckrolls. Large buttons and a flat flange on the neckrolls add a bold but feminine touch. Her other pillows were purchased to add layers to the style on her porch. Ensure when adding a heavy piece like this to your porch to use very large hooks and it is screwed into a beam in the ceiling.

Accessories may not be the foundation for design but it IS what defines and illuminates your space. This is where personality meets the basics and turns it into your own. Finding your style is about evolution and change and this is where possibilities in a space become a reality. Archives
